About Us
SEALESTIAL MARINE was locally incorporated with the idea of venturing into and servicing the ever growing and endless opportunity of the marine, ports and shipping industry in the island of Borneo and the surrounding areas. We are an ISO 9001 Quality Management System certified organization and are the operators and managers for “Sealestial Marine Seafarer Training Centre [SEAMASTER]”, an approved Maritime Training Institute by the Malaysian Marine Department.
Mission
Our mission is to support and complement the present marine, ports and shipping related entities be it private or Government by providing the necessary management, consultation as well as training services in order to collectively enhance the region’s reputation within the industry.
Vision
Our vision is to develop into one of the most diversified, progressive and well respected marine services provider within the region as well. This is to be achieved via our slogan of being a service provider that is Professional, Practical and Proactive.
Team
Our team of expertise includes Master Mariners, Marine Pilots and ex-Navy personnel. They have had extensive training and experience onboard various ocean going ships, maritime training centers, classification societies and other institutes of higher learning.
Management Team
General Manager
Capt. Kenneth Khoo LM.I.K, is a Master Mariner (Deck Officer Class 1, Unlimited Voyage C.O.C with STCW Endorsement), who is the General Manager of the Company. He was very instrumental in the starting up and development of various other Maritime Training Institutions in F.T Labuan and Miri, as well as still providing advisory and consultancy services to a Maritime Training Centre in Brunei Darussalam. He brings with him around 25 years of theory and practical industry experience and expertise to the Training Centre.
He has had the distinction of having served onboard various types of ships (oil tankers, general cargo vessels, bulk carriers, pure car carriers, passenger ferry and cruise ships) for around 12 years, from the time of joining the Malaysian Maritime Academy (ALAM) as a Deck Cadet in 1989, right up to his first command of a product tanker in 2001. However, since 2006, his involvement has mainly been in the marine related offshore industry and this has now become his core expertise.
His area of specialization includes Maritime Training, Marine Consultancy (Safety, Security and Quality Management Systems), Risk Management and Incident Investigation.
